Guest vvtiguy
Hi Guys, I've been on the hunt for a late aerotop. There was a gunmetal 99 on ebay a few days ago but the auction ended early (must have cut a deal) so i've been on the look out again. All the aerotops available at the mo are pre facelift and one thing i've noticed it how cheap they are now... I've seen non turbo hardtops go for under 2k in the last 12months which is crazy enough....but now right at this moment there are two red aerotops up for sale. Both around 60k miles on the clock....one is advertised for £3300 and the other for £2950!? Is this normal or is the supra market being hit bad by the credit crunch? Im not complaining as im in the market for one, but im wondering if i should jump on one of these now or are they going to topple in price even more? Guigsy
thats normal for this time of year and with the current market.... good time to be a buyer! I wouldnt expect them to topple any more tbh. unless your lucky or get a bad example

I think the price will continue to get lower, but being an aerotop there may be more seasonal variation (so winter is the better time to buy). If you want one, can afford to run it, and accept you probably won't recoup your money should you ever want to sell, I'd look into getting one before spring. I'd aim to get one for £2500 or less. Tom
Finding a facelift aero won't be easy, I think I can only remember seeing 3 for sale in the last 5 years! all facelift aero's are n/a's too incase you didnt know, tt's were made aero till 95 irrc but you should be able to get a pre-facelift n/a aero from around 3k, I've seen a few around this price over the last few weeks
dangerous brain
I think what you'll find is at £2K-£3K aerotops have hit as low as they are going to get if they are decent cars with reasonable miles. The other cars to compete ie its predecessor the mk3 aerotop etc have all bottomed out in that price range. If you actually look at the rest of the jap market skylines r32's in good nik, rexs in decent condition all hold £3k values. Its now a case of really looking at the ad, then really looking at the car itself. You'll now find 10 dogs for every good car. In amongst the sellers are the utterly dejected that will end up selling a good un for shite hawk money but don't expect that to be handed to you on a platter.
