miko_supra
I have just done a compression test on the engine... (PSI) 1)191 2)185 3)188 4)191 5)190 6)162 Thats 15% difference between cylinder 1 I tested the 6th cylinder with some oil in it and i got 228psi. Tested number 1 cylinder with the same and i got 250psi. Which now equals an 8% difference. But what does this mean? Because i understand that if the pressure goes up, its the piston ring as the oil in it seals the piston ring, but would that not mean that it should produce a similar reading to cylinder 1? EDIT: Or is this simply possibly caused by a marginal amount of more oil in no.1 The reason why i did this is to diagnose a misfire issue. Is this enough of a drop in compression to cause this? Tricky-Ricky
It is slightly low in comparison, the oil will just show if its down to rings/bore, or valves, it pays to try all cylinders with and without, if you can get a leak-down test done it will be more conclusive, and no that small difference will not cause a misfire. SIMON LC
There dont seem to be alot wrong with those readings.I would'nt pay too much attention to % difference as long as all the readings are healthy which they seem to be.
SUPRALOOPY
Looks OK but as tricky said.
