3 quick 'Nooby' Supra Questions

Evening All,

I have three quick questions that I know you guys will know the answers too.

1. How do you remove and replace the rectangular heating vents? Is it a matter of just giving them a good pull or do you have to start taking things apart like you have to do with the circular vents (where you have to remove the dash)?

2. My Corsa is a 16V... what is the supra? (Yes I know most of you will be laughing or worrying at that question).

3. I have been looking for a cheap private reg with my initials (RJN), can I choose any? My car is presently an L reg. I note there seems to be some issue with age of cars (and a lot of people here like the '666' for some reason)

Before the inevitable 'use the search option' reply, I have done so already but I like things to be clear and nothing came back for certain when I searched.

1, I can't remember. You can just pull the circular ones out through.

2, 24v

3, You can use any plate that is not age related or any age related plate that is L reg or before.

My idea was V24 RJN as my private reg. Would you happen to know if it is ok to use that?

Not allowed, as it would make you car look newer than it really is.

V24 means nothing anyway.

Cheers Jake.

When you say age related does that mean regs like T90 or N888? - which reg plates are not age related?

How about F1 RJN? http://www.nationalnumbers.co.uk/options/F1_RJN.htm

Still a heck of a lot of cash though.

Thanks for the suggestion. The dvla do a lot of RJNs for £249 so I may just go for one of those. Idea is simply to avoid the 'that's no way an L reg' conversations that I seem

To be having with every man and his dog

Bloody hell Ric you are not joking are you??

Joking about what mate?

Do You mean about not having a clue about cars? - I know very little (almost nothing) about cars and that's what is so great about my obsession with the supra. My comfort zone and knowledge is based on business and the law (all academic) and the Supra allows me to step into practical, hands on environment which is an area I really am a clueless noob in!

I have the greatest respect for people like you, Chris Wilson, JamieP, Gaz, Rob, Martin, Jamesy etc (to name but a few)who all seem to know so much about cars and how things tick. I'm not embarrassd to admit when I'm out of my depth :)

As for the private plate, Supras in my area for some reason are rarer than Aston Martins and Ferraris... People are genuinely confused by the L reg plate (especially after Envys respray)

Did you have a good Christmas Dave?
