I think you can, its a pita to get it back though. (i ended up glueing mine back in when i did it)

Was attached the the glass when i fitted the new screen though.

 

Why not just get the glass cut out or fit a new screen?????

 

Thanks mate, i think i will just get the window cut out and get a new seal fitted.

I can safely say the windscreen doesnt need to come out to remove the surround seal.

Mine lifted off above the windscreen at high speed one day and i removed the whole thing, cleaned it up and stuck it back on with RTV.

 

I think the original windscreen bond is meant to hold it in place.
