honesty needed..

ok its got to the point where after having a long talk with my parents about helping me out with a house/deposit etc...

and having come to the conclusion that all my cash goes on my car and slaughtering me i dont have something sensible (rather ironic as my dads got a maserati and escort cossi) that they arn't going to help me out till i basically get rid of it and get something "sensible". if any of you what bad luck i'd been through (most of you do) then you can understand where my parents are coming from lol. anyway i get the car back this week with a low milage n/a box in as i was going to sell and i'd never get any money back on a gearbox conversion. just wondering what i can expect to sell it for with the n/a box in- maybe sell as a project or swap or something. the car is mint except the only thing that lets it down at the moment is the unknown single setup which i'l get looked over soon as i get it back and the n/a gearbox. pics in my garage.

as far as i know the spec is as follows:

n/a-single jspec 5spd man

recent respray in st orange

cream/black/alcantara/suade interior

blitz fmic

hks clutch and aftermarket flywheel

hks mushroom filter

unknown larger injectors

(rest of mods in engine unidentified atm)

porsche rep alloys with brand new tyres

skirts and spats (facelift front bumper)

apexi guages and apexi controller

hks ecu management

straight through aftermarket exhaust (dont know make)

uk spec brakes

aftermarket suspension

as said before i need to get the car checked out for a list of mods

was told it was running approx 450bhp off seller

Essentially you have an NA with lots of expensive upgrades on that do nothing.

Any new owner needs to sort out these issues first, so will have to lay money out before they see anything. In the current climate too, i expect you are realistically looking at anything from £2000 (being honest) up to £4000 (you get a clueless fool who believes the hype, ignores the faults and sees the word turbo and nothing more)

this is around what i thought it be worth. just really pissed off with myself for getting it in the first place without any knowlege of them. only reason i put n/a box in again is that i need it for work as the pickup i was using is unavailable after this week. problem is i love the look of the car sooo much and if i would have known it was the wrong gearbox in the first place i would have spent it on that or sold it for another one. really annoyed at myself and just have to stop blaming everything on other people :(

edit: one rear lights facelift...ones not lol- only spotted this when i took photos lol

paint job is brilliant (no gaps between doors/engine bay or anything) i'l try and add a pic of engine bay but will be old and unclean one lol)

you can have the tyres for 1k lol

sorry havent got images anymore- only cosmetic damage nothing major- £1600 damage so just few bits replaced

you wanted honesty and I'm sorry to say it but your car is pretty f*cked :)

Lets do a run down of your car

It's orange

the rear bumper doesnt align

odd rear lights

unknown engine spec and turbo (xs power no dought)

unknown boost, ecu?

gearbox which will only last short while

loads of other niggles, probably

it's realistically going to cost at least 5k+ to get right, probably a load more

you'd be better off breaking the thing :)

Would YOU buy a car that needed a gearbox doing?

Especially if it needed a £1500 odd gearbox job doing?

depends if someone likes the cars image- wants to go single and can do all the work themself and has some cash to burn? or a chav sees "orange supra turbo" in the ads and thinks "fast and furious" along with "does it do that whooosh thing..."

i'l just see what happens :D

Just get a TT auto box (assuming it will take the hp) - someone will soon confirm on here, and get a cheap second hand prefacelift light.

Give me your old facelift light and gearbox as a fee for this advice.

Get car checked by a specialist to ensure its running correctly and sell.

Done.
