I'm a bit dubious about it.

Thoughts please.

Looks very shiny... I'm thinking respray perhaps (but why? accident repair?).

Is carpet correct colour? Should it be black not grey?

Also wear on interior looks more than 59,000 miles..... clocked?

I will do a full HPI when I get the VIN.

Can you guys spot anything obvious that a beginner like me has missed.

I've spoke to the guy on the phone and he's a dealer who has no clue about these cars.. "it's got stage 2, big intercooler and steel turbo's innit"

I need help on this one. Quick reply appreciated.

Cheers Karl

grey carpet is normal,

it's black so it will be shiny ;)

it doesnt look like the real mileage from the pics, but it is an old car, as Gaz said your better off buying from someone on here, especially at that price

there's a stunning white facelift tt6 in the for sale section for the same price! looks mint!

Honestly Kins I've just sold my red tt6 and I miss it already and I'm very tempted by this one

nicest one i've seen up for a lil while

Yes I'm thinking this. Screams clocked due to the condition of interior.

What about carpet?

How can I tell if it's been an NA conversion?

I'm pretty good at telling if it's had bodywork.

What's a reasonable price to pay for this? If this was sold by a private seller how much would I expect to pay.

I like the fact it's a black and 6 speed tt. Not so many of these available.

I'm not too bothered its a non facelift.... why pay 1000's more for new lights bumper thingy?

Its a J-spec RZ with a front mount intercooler. I'd doubt the steel turbo and stage 2 (???) claim unless you see proof. Radiator looks to be on its way out. Drivers seat is well worn, check the pedal rubbers for wear. Alot are clocked, but usually in japan so hard to prove - not always a problem as long as its been well looked after. Make sure its got lots of UK history. Grey carpet is standard. Get a good test drive and have it thoroughly checked by a good mechanic if you're not sure. I always avoid buying cars from anyone who uses the word "innit"

......

I've spotted this. It's nice but it's a serious trek for me (along way to go for a motor). White isn't my fav colour either.

There is another nice black 6 speed facelift in the classifieds on here too. Miles are higher and it's more expensive.

It's got different colour badges front & rear, maybe indication to look for crash damage around the rear (don't know many people who would swap to gold badges on the back only on purpose).

If it all checks out and I can get this for 7-8K do you think I will have done OK?

I'm not expecting to go out there and find the best supra first time round. Usually I buy an example and if I like it I'll buy another one it better nick later on.

Well I'm off to view it soon.

Wish me luck.

If it turns out to be a shocker I might make the trip for the white one down south or the black one in notts.

Walk away from it ! the dealer according to there profile is a specialist but knows nothing about a car he's selling.

Thats enough reasons for me.

Is there any history to back up the nice low mileage ? 14 + yrs old = under 4000 a year !

Be wary of any car your looking at and to be honest i wouldnt buy another mkiv without being able to get it on a ramp to get a good look underneath, ignore mots and how the car looks its the stuff you cant see that'll cost you big in the future.

My future prediction is that you'll see the car, make a rash decision and buy it, then we'll see various threads of how much the car has cost you and how much of a dog it is.

Then how you wished you had listened to the members advice on here.

Sorry :)

I'm going to check it out but if I have any doubts I wont buy it.

I've not viewed any yet so I have to start somewhere.

I would sooner buy from a member. It's finding a car that ticks the boxes though. Agreed dealers prices are more expensive but if it's decent I'll see what I can do price wise.

I have heard very dodgy things about these guys at AP, i would be carefull, put it one way most of their "stock" is about as good as "Keighley" so make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb

Enough said.

Go find a nice one which shouldnt be too hard if youve got a decent budget.

Silly things start my alarm bells ringing, like the pic of the inside, its not even been vac'd out and the mat being on the scew the way it is doesnt scream specialist to me, ive sold a few cars and would never present one for sale like that.
