supra_si
doesnt look to bad for 4k. yeh the remap i would question though as i was led to beleive you cannot remap stock ecu's
steady_dave
Looks like a nice buy, and it's also given me optimism that you can get some semi-decent HP out of an NA engine
supspower
only way is to get some answers request dyno sheets and where he got the remap done.......if he says remap done before he bought it likelyhood it isnt remapped or atleast get it on one to find out. 3LL
my NA is 246BHP with printout, but i didnt realise you could remap the ecu? I might email him and ask where he got it done etc..

Tom
I dont think you can take the stock ECU and "map it" but I can't see why you wouldnt be able to fit something like an emanage blue and tweak the map from there
JustGav
I dont think you can take the stock ECU and "map it" but I can't see why you wouldnt be able to fit something like an emanage blue and tweak the map from there You certainly wouldn't gain 40bhp from an emanage...(I'm speculating here because I can't see where you would get the gains on a completely stock engine)
Supra-Brett
Looks like a nice buy, and it's also given me optimism that you can get some semi-decent HP out of an NA engine Cant be done (easily) and never actually seen it done. Only ever heard the yanks having a go, but never heard of it completed Cant get anything decent out of an N/A economically i.e. its best to but a TT and transplant the engine. When it comes to BHP per pound of money spent, tuning an N/A is just stupid.

BHP per pound spent is not economical or sensible and 40BHP extra ? i dont think so
steady_dave
Don't fool yourself, it still is a complicated thing to do but obviously not impossible...... I'm not fooling myself, I think I can really do something with this car.
Supra-Brett
my NA is 246BHP with printout, but i didnt realise you could remap the ecu? I might email him and ask where he got it done etc.. Yet another wild claim of power from an N/A, and from your garage description with only a decat Most dynos arnt accurate. Simple as that, and power figures vary wildly dependant on type according to many of the posts ive read on here. Why do you think the yanks always seem to get more power out of the same spec cars ? Its because the dynos are measuring differently. I bet if you take your car to another dyno of a different make/type you will get a completely different figure. We would all like to believe that we have more power, but they just dont get more power after 15 years with just a decat. Nice car by the way, love the pics and the wheels look great,
Supra-Brett
but obviously not impossible...... I'm not fooling myself, I think I can really do something with this car. If you can re-map a std N/A ECU, get a good power gain +20BHP and do it cheaply ~£250 you will get a lot of custom from N/A owners on here. BUT - i bet you cant:p
3LL
Whats been done to yours to make 246? I dont totally know to be honest, i know its had decat and zorst but aside from that i dont know what "engine" work if any has been done, To be honest have had it 2 months, but I have the dyno printout inc the garage details etc on the printout so seems genuine enough. Dazzi
This was a members car on here. It doesn't have the claimed '267hp'. It was at a dyno day and produced 193.6hp. http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o238/jamesmark8378/?action=view¤t=MiamiGTdynoday.flv

CardiffSupra
When it comes to BHP per pound of money spent, tuning an N/A is just stupid. I love it when people through around bhp figures like that, A boy I work with (Only 19) claims his mate just got a Supra for 8k and it's running 550bhp on stock tubbys. How I laughed and told him he's full of shit, He then went on to tell me his other mate got a Escort cossie, Standard it comes with 400bhp. dude
Remember one dyno figure will alter to another, they are best used for tuning purposes so you know what difference a modification has made, this means always using the same dyno and operator, i once had a bike dynoed and was dissapointed because it was only 120 hp, the guy said well i can press a button and it will read 130+, doesnt alter the fact its prob only 120!!!!. I also beat another supra on the strip that was 1200 hp, mine was prob just 600, go figure.Maybe mine were different horses:taped:
