Clear Indicators

Hi Everyone, I've read a few threads about this but I don't really seem to be getting anywhere. Just been looking at the supe lately and thinking it would look alot 'nicer' if the indicators were clear instead of the standard orange cover. I have a '94 j-spec n/a pre-facelift. Not sure if you can get them for pre-facelift models but would be nice to know where to get some if they are available.

Any Information would be grateful

Thanks

Are these just a simple swap do you know?

I dont think they are, I think you need to chop and change the looms and also the hanger so that you can fit these.

Im thinking of putting clear indicators on mine too, but the hassle of doing the looms and modding the bracket to get it to fit is putting me off.

If these indicators are a straight swap, I'll buy them straght away!

Pretty simple to change, you will need 2 looms from Mr T, about £35. Part numbers...81515-14390

Then follow these instructions.

http://www.jwwebdev.co.uk/Supra/How_to_fit_Facelift_front_indicators.pdf

I had to measure out and drill an extra hole in the bumper to accomodate the third mounting bolt on the indicators for stability, No modding of brackets to do.

Makes a big difference.

I didn't change the loom, I modified the light to accept the original loom and then fitted one of those chrome bulbs that light up orange, and then I simply blocked up the sidelight hole as I didn't want sidelights down there anyway

Pre facelift

The square ones on the wings.

Sorry to repeat myself.... are these just a straight swap or are they like the indicators (i.e. needing looms?).

I cant make my mind up whether to do both (anyone who knows me knows how useless I am with anything technically so its bound to lead to a mess) or whether to just do the side reapers (which might look odd.

Side repeaters are a 30 second swap, as easy as that.

Prob quicker than 30 secs.

Anyone beat it?? :D:d

How do you modify the light then? I dont fancy chopping my loom up either...

I simply used a stanley knife to make the hole bigger and cut new slots to allow the original bulb holder to fit in.
