i'm a bit lost what to do, i know i will get the full report tomorrow

at worst its another 3k for another engine

but with regards to rebuilding the internals what kind of costs would i be looking at

-best option only need to replace no6 piston

-chamber is scored will need to be boared and new set of piston/ heads?

- above but will need new value springs?

i'm really lost over this, any advise would be helpful

like everyone i'm not flash with the cash but i have little to no choice but to get the car on the road ASAP as its my daily runner

Where?

2nd-hand-land, just off the M99.

On a serious note, if you have a look round there is always someone selling one cheap. Just make sure it's all it's cracked up to be (compression OK etc) and you're laughing. Mine was found through a UK part location firm in the end.

I would

Buy a 2nd run about for work

Start to remove the engine

looking out for a complete engine to stick back in

Then your be able to sell your old engine/ and the run about

You cant rush these jobs tho and you get what you pay for.

If the bore is scored then it's going to be cheaper to get a 2nd hand engine.

Did you have a warranty with the one you fitted?

A new or rebuilt bottom end will cost a significant amount of money (£3k ish)

it did, 30days but its run out, its more of a user error than parts error

15mins solid high speed no cool down on the turbos, so the seals went pop, and somthing from the turbos made its way into no6 cylinder

still wating on the fully report from JPS but guessing its a new eninge now, as a rebuild wil be more costly

bit more of a damage report

6th piston is melted, and the block will need to be bored out, and new oversized pistons fitted, new crank pully and injectors ,seals bearings ...etc

Head will need to be skimmed, and a oversize head gasket required. And possible value damage

Not to mention I still need to replace the turbo’s

don't think there is a point to cutting and running

i'm not gonna get that much for breaking the car anyway, its either a 2nd hand engine or a have forged internalls and build a stronger engine, which by the sounds of it will be in the region of what i paid last time for the conversation

i don't have a problem with it being a Na-TT, bar insurance issues its the same a J-spec TT bar its limited to 170mph because of the gear box, but then i get a slight better gear ratio for accerlation
