I thought it was about time I said hello, been so busy with work haven't had time. I am a insurance engineer for motor industry authorising repairs to your damaged motors & of course writing them off. Having lost my license 3 times already I decided to get a NON-turbo which after my Toyota Surf definately puts a smile on my face. As yet haven't seen another supe in Leicestershire but did pass one on A1 in Newcastle last month, going to Exmoor end of month so better luck then hopefully. Couple of pix attached.

I deal with bodyshops all over the country including N.Ireland & Isle of Wight so if I can help I am more than willing to do so !!!

One thing I've always wondered, will any insurance recommended bodyshop be able to deliver spot-on results, or can they vary and end up with less than perfect results which are acceptable as far as the average accident repair to a Focus is concerned, but no good for the likes of us perfectionists paying for a respray/etc?

Several members on here have travelled great distances to get their cars resprayed/touched up, and I often wonder if it's necessary. So far, the peace of mind that the place you are using will do a perfect job doesn't come cheap!

I plan on getting my car resprayed (the whole thing, properly with the windows out etc etc whatever's involved), and I've been told not to budget around £4k. Is that normal or mental? :D

The larger the bodyshop chain the less likely good results, if you want ''perfect'' results you are better off employing a smaller well equipped shop that has a good reputation in the local area and are adept at working on prestige vehicles, but even these have the occasional hiccup. You must be aware that some customers cannot be pleased any of the time.If you are thinking of having a total respray and complete strip & fit £4k is probably about right considering the bulk of the labour is going to be the strip & fit time.
