johnny g
Hi everyone, Car is a 98 TT6. My front and rear fog lights work off the standard fog light switch on the light stork. Now, can anyone tell me the easiest way to separate out the functions so that I can buy a rear fog light switch like the UK Specs have and have the fronts running off the light stork and the rears off their own switch/button. I've checked a few articles, but none really seem to hit the nail on the head for me. Cheers in advance.
SteveR
Sounds like someone went to a lot of effort, wiring the rears into the same switch as the fronts. That's the first time I've heard of that being done, so rest assured, it's a custom job and thus (I expect that) you'll need to have a look at it yourself; we can't help as much as you might like as we haven't got that custom wiring. I would be tempted to trace the wires from the rear fog, towards the front of the car and when they get somewhere sensible - like behind the dash - cut them and wire them into a switch and add to a local 12V feed. then just mount the switch somewhere. Sorted, I think!
johnny g
I might ask my mate to do it, he's unreliable, but he's a lot better than me in auto electrics
Branners
Did your car come through Brundle Toyota? (infact is it Alex's old one?) Mine is done the same way which is actually quite smart but still a shame as I tended to use the front fogs as sidelights as they made the car look wider as you come up behind people. I'm the 2nd UK owner of mine mate, I bought it from a guy in Oxfordshire. But no, it wasn't Alex I want mine separating out for the same reason, front's as sidelights. Branners
Reason I ask is that Brundle brought in a load of RSPs (tiptoe and 6sp) and quite often have sequential number plates. If it was them then its going to be the same mod as mine. Mark from Phoenix said he has never seen it done that way and would have to do a bit of investigation to find out how it was done If you do find out then let me know. johnny g
I will mate, by the way my reg starts S733 - so it's come through there, it might be the same for you. I'll get my mate from Toyota on it when I see him and let you know.
