flukey-lukey
Hi all, I have Tein Superstreets on my car, they're about a year old and have covered less than 4000miles. Its seems that the rear drivers side is 'leaking' so I took it off for futher inspection. Once it was off the car and cleaned up I noticed that if you push down on the shocker it takes a veeeeeeeeeerrry long time for it to come back up and also leaks what looks like oil from the top. So, knackered we think? Anywhere that refurbs them in Yorkshire or I suppose I could send it off?

Bossco
TEIN refurb them to. Last time I looked into it was nearly 2 years back and they were charging £60 for a worst case scenario coilover. It maybe cheaper depending on what they need to do. You can e-mail them from there website. I remember speaking to a lad called Chris who was very helpful. paul mac
would these not be covered under warranty, 4000 miles isnt good for a shock, especially one that cost about £
Dnk
4000 miles and ones leaking ! I'd be calling Tein to sort it out. Or fit some proper dampers and springs !
flukey-lukey
I would be claiming the warranty if I had bought them brand new from the shop, but I bought them brand new from a member instead :-/ and he's since been banned from the forum I have a friend who own a car shop that supply Tein stuff so I think I'll have him contact them direct and see what they can do

I bought a Tein Kit for my car but never fitted it as i wasnt convinced they'd stand the test of time, i fitted Eibach's with O/E dampers in the end and im more than happy, approx £700 for dampers and springs. I had Eibach springs with OE dampers before I fitted the Teins and imo there isn't much difference in the ride quality/stiffness, but the Teins are height adjustable which is what swayed it for me. I also thought about purchsing the EDFC to adjust the stiffness whie driving, but the supra doesn't get much use so seems like a waste of money

Far too much hassel imo As you raise and lower the car it would also need to be re tracked and the cambers adjusted. I much prefer a decent set of springs that set the ride height at a practical height that you can still achieve stock settings with.
