Just when they were about to put in the fluid, the guy comes up and says "There's a red sticker on the cap that says use automatic fluids only...". We were both kinda confused, but still went ahead with the manual fluid instead. Does anyone else had this too? Mine is a J-Spec btw. You have to be very careful with what oil you put in too so if i were you i would be getting the proper stuff and having it changed before u start rotting through seals. But they said that they do not carry those anymore, and instead they printed out the fluid data specifications for me. It listed 'API GL-5 SAE 75W-90', so I followed exactly what it says. Chris Wilson Posted November 7, 2008 Share Posted November 7, 2008 V160 is based on auto box fluid. Thousands of modern cars have manual boxes that run ATF in them, its low viscosity aids MPG. Whether it's the best oil in a transmission that's being overloaded by a lot more torque than it was designed for though is a moot point.
