Can boost leak be audible??

I can tell you that I had exactly the same damn thing.

Does it sound like a kind of 'howling' noise??

On mine, it turned out to be that one of the Jubilie clips on the left side of the FMIC was a little loose and needed tightening.

After this though, the boost leak had gone...:)

And yes, that type of boost leak can be audible. Mine was.

and did this stop the howling?? il have to further investigate as im sure they where on damn tight.

Thanks for the help

I t does sound like second sucking sound, The car still boosts ok but the ssqv is a little quieter than normal. I was wondering if it had anything to do with now having metal pipes, thought the turbo spool might have been echoing through them

Yep stopped the howling straight away...

It started at 0.4 bar and got worse through to 0.6 bar...

I would check that your FMIC is on correctly, check all the hoses and the Jubilie clips.

But from what you are experiencing, I would say definetely a Jubilie clip needs a tweak of your screwdriver...:)
