Dash Colour

Has anybody purchased those dash kits on ebay and the like before?

Needing a bit of tlc my dash does and seen cars with them silver so just wondered what is the easier option?

Stick on kits or DIY paint job?

Well, either way you'd need to remove the dash. Adhesive breaks down after time and the edges can peel, a good paint job will last though You'll also be able to get a more accurate colour match as you can choose from a far wider specturm of colours. There is probably a 'how to' guide on here for painting if you do a search.

If you really want to go up-market you can send your dash to Nic for a really tidy carbon weave finish

i'm in the process of painting my dash now, its not as bad as you think taking the rubberised crap of the plastic. I got everything i needed from halfords (minus the laquer which i had anyway) for less than £15

Hey Nic, how much do you charge to get the dash carbon wrapped? (I'm guessing it's genuine carbon fiber and not carbon 'effect') cheers.

The carbon route is going to be expensive.

Have a go at painting it, you may realy like the results.

Anything other than stock colour just looks chav imo, ive not seen a sprayed dash i like, alcantara/sued ones look ok.

I think they look okay if they match the car colour. I don't think he means the WHOLE dash, just the parts around the consoles and dials... right? Can look tidy if done well, but worse if it's a bodge or poor finish.

nah, didnt mean whole dash. just the surround at the guages etc

thats cool, think ill do that when i get round to mine soon. which leads to my next problem, how to remove the thing in the first place:blink: anybody care to help me lol

That looks superb!

I did mine in a gloss black. Only two painted colours i like are the Black and Dark Grey which someone on here did (Andrew someone i think).

Although I'd prefer a brand new stock dash.

Here's mine, covered it with Carbon Fibre Vinyl and lasts as long as paint etc. Regards - Rob - Likwidart.

No you don't...

I have a CF dash weave stick on finish and mine fitted fine and I didn't remove the dash to do it, everyone is different to how they do things though...
