What type of oil dip-stick do you have?

My UK car had a lovely twisted (braided?) oil dipstick which was nice and flexible. It would bend in any way and had a super massive handle on it - big like everything else on the car.

My Jap car has a flat bar type dipstick with a small yellow hoop for the handle. Because it's a flat long bar thing, it only bends one way, and because of that it isn't so nice to insert and remove.

What's the deal here? Has my dipstick been lost and replaced with an inferior item, or are all Jap cars like this?

pretty sure all facelifts have the el cheapo (lighter) yellow ring pull flat blade type.........not sure if its a specific facelift change per se but imo at least all 93/4 model cars will have the more quality twisted braid and black 'engine oil' topped dipstick.

Superior dipstick here on my UK too :D

:cool:Quality dipstick here. Just love the white lettering on black, it just oozes class.

The auto box dipstick oozes class as well I'd say :)
