Engine builders help??

Hi i have a full engine rebuild just done on my supra all upgaded parts:eyebrows:pistons,cams,rods,turbo ect ect.car im guessing might turn out 650-800bhp.

My question is i herd alot opinions on oils,what to use for first start up and break in??Help:search:

Id say el cheapo synthetic oil is good for 1st start and break in then switch it out for some semi or fully synthetic.

Crack oil filter open after 1st start/idle, if there's anything wrong inside the engine the evidence will be in there

Yeah a lot of people said that to me use cheap normal oil for the first few hundered miles why is this?good to bed in the engine?any idea what weights to go for?thanks mate:)

A 10W/40 mineral oil will do. Whatever you can lay your hands on that's not too expensive but still will work.

Don't use synthetic as it may not allow the engine to bed in properly, especially the rings and the bores. This is important as the rings need to seal properly as early on in the engine's life as possible before the bores become 'polished'. Once the bores are polished there's not much hope of the rings sealing properly if they haven't already sealed. A cheap oil will allow the rings & bore to wear to fit each other properly. A synthetic may actually stop this happening.

The cheap oils will lubricate fine, but will also allow the engine to bed in.

Even Tesco 10W/40 would do for the 500 miles you'll use it for

Thanks mate i just wasnt too sure why youd use cheap oil lol but obvioulsy it lubicates and beds in the engine:)
