A 10W/40 mineral oil will do. Whatever you can lay your hands on that's not too expensive but still will work.

 

Don't use synthetic as it may not allow the engine to bed in properly, especially the rings and the bores. This is important as the rings need to seal properly as early on in the engine's life as possible before the bores become 'polished'. Once the bores are polished there's not much hope of the rings sealing properly if they haven't already sealed. A cheap oil will allow the rings & bore to wear to fit each other properly. A synthetic may actually stop this happening.

 

The cheap oils will lubricate fine, but will also allow the engine to bed in.

 

Even Tesco 10W/40 would do for the 500 miles you'll use it for :)
