After some uninsured mong crashed into me last september I am now told that unless the insurance company recieves repayment from him the claim goes on my record as "fault" not a "no fault".

Thats crap... what's the point of insurance! They place obstacles at every point!

AND

Even if I want to make a claim through the MIB for uninsured losses, they wont pay the first £300 of any claim! So I only get £50 back. Thats if the long drawn out process favours me!!!

Obstacles at every point is the key there. Insurance companies make it so difficult, expensive and are generally so aggravating to get insurance let alone make a claim that sometimes I can see why people with old bangers don't bother with it!

I mean have you ever tried to get temporary insurance on a car for example!

Another thing I cant understand about insurance (sorry bit off topic) I'm not allowed to drive other cars on my policy something to do with imports no doubt.

You will find this is probably because you are under 25 years old. I was told on mine I would not be able to drive other cars until I was 25.

Do what though, thats the problem we cant do anything. Its like my Sky+ box I had installed, 3 boxes in one week I went through, and I couldnt even phone them to shout and have a whinge (sp), why because they havent got a complaints phone number, you can only contact them by mail. Thats typical of a comapany getting intself out the direct firing line of the customer.

When I finished my old insurance policy (Privelage) from my Calibra when I was just purchasing the Supe, they screwed me out of £300 for some small print tosh, and again there was nothing I could do except bend over and take it.

No wonder you see more and more post with everyone feeling the same way, I see lets go burn them all tonight, be like a proper witch hunt........ :p :p :p

If you have insurance and the other bloke hasn't then get your insurance solicitors to contact him with legal proceedings to get back the cost of repairs. I've just got back in from my law course!:p If someone smashed your car windows with a hammer wouldn't you sue him? So what's the difference?!:flame Dev

Oh they've done that... he's unemployed, he cant pay, he can barely speak a word of english. He told the insurance company that he would pay by installments but hasnt yet. The insurance company are apparently getting someone else to deal with it now, probably bailiffs or something like that!

I could take him to the small claims court but what good will that do! I pay my insurance so that I dont have to do all this crap!
