Guest oli_supra
my single turbo supra will not start, it has been garaged for a few weeks, It started last week and went fine. then i started it yesterday but it sounded crap, it was runnign very lumpy then stalled with a LOUD back fire!the battery then died so today i replaced it with a nice new one and tried to start the car again, it turns over healthy but will not fire, any ideas?! the ECU is AUTRONICS, also i think i have leaky valve stem seals so its smokey on start up when it has been sitting for a while, i only tried to start it 3 times, turning it over for around 5 seconds each time, should i keep trying? it has never done this before so didnt want to keep trying! Swampy442
Hi dude. Im not sure about the Autronics ECU but Im almost certain you have an ignition problem and the smoke is unburnt fuel after repeated churning of the starter. Maybe check your fuses? mashhead
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=142477&highlight=starting+problems&page=2 this was a thread a while ago, same problem. Pointed to faulty fuel pump. I would get home start out, they will do it quickly, and you can ave a cup of tea instead.
