Nic
Do we have anyone familiar with the JZA70 & JZX100 Chaser? I'm trying to find out if a 1JZGTE turbo kit for a JZX100 Chaser could fit a 1JZGTE JZA70.
Swampy442
Yes it will, just need to fabricate different downpipe and intake.
Syed Shah
Yep second that!
Nic
Thanks guys, how big a job do you think it would be to modify the downpipe to fit? I presume by intake you mean the IC pipe might need modifying? I'm asking because HKS do a turbo kit for the 1JZ Chaser and I'm trying to establish what would be involved to modify it to fit a 1JZ JZA70. Syed Shah
I could not say on that Nic; it *might* fit as is down to the mid-pipe. Worse case is getting a fabricator to mod the DP off the back of the turbo and the IC pipe to it. If you have a fabricator available, it would be an easy job for him. garethr
I wonder if clearance for the exhaust manifold and turbo might be a problem. The Chaser is a big car... Also the JZX100 has the VVTi single-turbo 1JZ. The manifold gaskets for the TT and VVTi have different part numbers, but I don't know if the stud pattern is different. EDIT: From the EPC diagrams it looks as if the stud pattern is different. JZA70 TT left, JZX100 VVTi right. Syed Shah
Wow the EPC does make it look that way. I have never heard of the VVTi 1JZ having a different stud pattern to the normal one - unless it is unique to the Chaser?! I would not worry about clearance to the firewall/suspension turret, the Soarer engine is pretty damn big.
Swampy442
I think the stud pattern is more VVTI specific than car specific Syed. Nic I think you pretty much have to expect that if you fit an aftermarket turbo kit a visit to your local, friendly exhaust manufacturer is on the cards, but not sure if an 'off the shelf' downpipe exists
Nic
Thanks guys. Think I've found a better option, GReddy do a kit for the JZZ30/1JZGTE Soarer, stud pattern is the same, but exhaust down pipe is different.
Syed Shah
I got Full - Race in the US to do mine on the Soarer inc DP/MP
