Matt _Aero top_
has anyone bought one of these headers or had any experience with them ? I know we should be good club members and buy for fellow club traders but moneys tight at the moment .... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290251060506
Dazzi
There was some talk of this a while back. The welding is poor and one guy commented on the cracking after a couple months use.
Matt _Aero top_
must have missed that thread , So what we saying then ???? stay well clear or did the fella just get a spot of badluck .
Dazzi
I can't remember if it was a Supra manifold to be exact but it was from the same company. The welding looks very poor and thin tbh. I wouldn't touch it but its worth a shot if they have warranty.
Matt _Aero top_
Hmm decisions decisions , I've been here before with trying to save a few quid and it ends up stinging me . But i need something quick as my first cat is blowing and basically fooked it sounds like a tractor .
Dazzi
Have you seen the OBX manifold? Apparently its a direct bolt on but requires nuts to be welded on for the 02 sensors.
miko_supra
If it has been designed for LHD supras then it might not clear the stearing column
Dazzi
If it has been designed for LHD supras then it might not clear the stearing column Thats what I thought but I contacted 5 people that bought one off ebay and they all confirmed good fitment. Edit: OBX manifold that is
Matt _Aero top_
have you got a link to the OBX ones . Welding wouldn't be a problem i'd get some nuts tig welded on at work .

Matt _Aero top_
cheers bud ya a goodun . the o2 sensors look like they need abit more work that just nuts welding on . it looks like theres no flange at all and just a tapped hole . Dazzi
Yea if you have screw in ones like me thats not a problem but if you have Toyota sensors you might need to weld on a flange.
Matt _Aero top_
i got the exact same sensors as you fella , it was you who told me where to get em from , there screw type but i had to buy seperate flanges .

jihwaan
Do the OBX headers with both decats make much difference (power wise) to the NA? what exhaust are you guys running back from the headers and decat? To take a guess Id think they would be a decent improvement with the decats and they should sound a lot nicer as well- can anyone confirm this? thanks in advance for any info guys ! Matt _Aero top_
I've got a HKS Super Dragger cat back system . really tempted by this and would love to find out if anyones had anything to do with them ... the obx one that is as its the better buy i think
Rob
As an alternative, Chris Wilson sold decat pipes, in two sections for 1st and 2nd, which may solve your blowing problem quicker by just replacing the first cat permanantly. Missile
My 1st cat had a crack just under the flange, Its a common fault with the N/A's. I bought another cat and bored it out and welded around the flange for extra strength. With my old one i've welded it up nice and strong and am about to bore it out like my one and was going to put it up on here for sale........
