How many of you own facelifts?

I've been looking round for a facelift Supe, but cant seem to find many over a '94!

Are they rare, or are pre's just more common for some reason??

there are 2 types of facelift. There are some with the normal 2jzgte in it and most have the VVTi. So depends what you are looking for.

All facelifts will be 1996 or newer.

Maybe your not looking in the right places - there are lots out there to choose from SZ's SZ-R's RZ and RZ-S all on Pistonheads, Autotrader or eBay at the moment

Facelift with VVTI

I have a facelift non vvti 'TT'...am i wrong in thinking that vvti's are not as easy to mod?

Anyhow there are more around now compared to what they used to be, so expect to see more as the ten year import thing will bring in 98 year supes now.

I've only seen ONE facelift VVTi Supra on any of those. It was a gun-metal one I belive someone on this forum was selling it. all the rest were pre-facelifts...

The other reason I put up this poll was not just to find out the ratio of facelift to pre ownership, but to ask... Is this a factor you take into concideration when buying a Supra? If it's a facelift, if it has VVTi or what?

Is there much of a difference between driving a VVTi Supra to a non-VVTi? Non-VVTi is supposed to have 300bhp and the VVTi 325bhp... is the extra 25bhp noticable? And after BPU, is there a big gap between the final power figures of the two?

There is no pre-facelift VVTi.

Not really, it was the only facelift Supe with VVTi (as it was stated it had VVTi) the rest were pre-facelifts - which DON'T have VVTi. Maybe you should read it properly and not be so quick to condemn.

Don't really care buddy, only way i can read what i highlighted, from your post, is that you didn't know VVTi's came only in the facelift model.

If you already knew that then why mention facelift? Why not just start a thread regarding VVTi's?

Would certainly be less confusing and get you the answer you were looking for. As an added bonus i don't have a VVTi so wouldn't be involved in the thread.

Or did you miss these? VVti's, Tiptronic's, SZ-R 6 speeds etc all there!!

Plus there are at least 10 facelifts for sale on this very forum!

I couldn't find any when I narrowed the search to reasonable distance from myself, and narrowed it even further to a 6speed TT. So although you found quite a few there.. most of them are of no interest to myself

And this is still irrelavant to my thread! If I wanted help to find a Supra I'd ask in the wanted section. As I previously stated, I'm interested to see the ratio of facelift to pre owners. If you want to contribute, then do so, if not then don't, it's that easy.

I am trying to contibuting to your thread as you said you could only find one - which clearly isnt true is it?

The question you now ask has been asked many times before. whether pre or facelift? - its the condition mileage and so on tyhat should be important, plus colour, specs etc.

Make a decision on what you want really want and if it is VVTi or Tiptronic (or both)then it has to be a facelift otherwise it really doesn't make a lot of difference either way!

Well I was looking more towards facelift because of the VVTi, mainly the RZ model too. But I wanted to know if the VVTi makes that much of a difference?? Say if I found a gem of an example, but pre, would it be silly to turn it down just because it doesn't have VVTi?

By no means is the Supra a slow car, so is it a noticable difference when driving? Is the car NOT having VVTi an issue for some people, or are they not overly fussed about it? Just looking to get thoughts and opinions of owners really.
