gsportcars
Yes I have this problem too. Because of Toyotas new computer system they seem to be unable to simply look up any part at all without a chassis number. complete bunch of idiots I reckon as it comes down to laziness!!! Guigsy
ive ordered several parts over the last month or 2. uk headlight and the facelift grill bar from toyota in northampton without anything like that. just walk in. tell them what i want it arrives a few days later. strange
dannysupratt
yeah actually im sure its just imports they need a chassis number for.
gsportcars
Lexus in Belfast have apparently got a new system in where I am told I need a chassis number or they can't order the part. Strangest thing is that if I stand there for long enough with a blank look on my face they seem to suddenly develop the ability to actually go through the system normally to find the part. I have actually had one of the guys there tell me that he will ring me back after speaking with his superior to see if the part can be found on the 'system' without a chassis number. When I got the phone call back I was told that I would deffo need a chassis number as it would simply take too long to find the part. This is after I had told the guy exactly what part it was and that it didn't matter it it was from a manual or auto, or UK or import car. Infact I remember now that the part was a 2jz-gte oil pump!!! Homer
The new system Toyota have rolled out is apparently a load of crap (well at least my local garage were having real moan about it!). You can always see the relief on their faces when I come in with part numbers
