stevie_b
I've got aftermarket front speakers (Infinity Kappa) that allow a certain amount of adjusting by twiddling a knob in th speaker cone. I like the stock speaker covers and would like to continue using them, but I'm trying to figure out a fastening method to allow the covers to be removed easily. Ideally I want to glue the rigid plastic bezel that surrounds the cloth cover onto the door card (superglue etc, easily done), so then I just need to figure out a way of attaching the cover to the bezel. I've considered/tried velcro (doesn't give a secure fit, too wobbly), snap-on clips used in haberdashery (they need to be pushed too hard to make it usable or safe for the door card underneath), screwing the cover onto the bezel (will look rubbish I think), and a metal clip of some kind (still investigating, but there's not much room between the cover and the bezel when the cover's in place). Any ideas? Edited August 31, 2008 by stevie_b (see edit history)
stevie_b
Stuff it, I've given up trying to manufacture some fancy retaining system and just superglued the b*ggers on!
