Hi all, just wondering, how much do Idler Pullies cost as i think mine is on it's way out as it is squeaking when the engine is cold and after

i put a little but of WD40 on it, it stopped until yesterday when it was squeaking all the time...

It only stops when the engine is piping hot...

Any ideas on price for these??

Auxiliary belt idler pulley? If it's a steel one I can rebuild it with a new bearing. If it's plastic you need a new one, and I think they only come with the whole tensioner :(

It's about half way down the front of the engine and it's under the auxillary belt and the pullies...

It's a fairly small-ish pully and when i sprayed with a tad of WD40, it went away.

Yes, i believe it is the Idler Pully Chris...

Your problem is the same than mine look these video :

It kind of sounds like that but not as bad and its also dependant on the temp outside - it's intermittant...

Its a black pulley at the front of the engine under the main auxillery belt...Its just above the thick black belt though which is near the bottom of the front of the engine...

From the dealership, they're kind of expensive, but the MVP pulley is pretty reasonably priced at ~60GBP. Here's a pic.

Ahh, the pulley that im on about, looks like that but i dont think it's steel, it's black in colour, so i would take that as being plastic??

Both are black, the front face of the steel type is a smooth pressing, the moulded plastic one has radial stiffening ribs. Tap it with a screwdriver blade, you'll tell from the sound of it. Steel ones can be repaired, plastic ones can't be dismantled.

Ok, so if plastic ones cant be dismantled, how the hell does it come off?! :-(
