ellis
Part 1 of my exit from Supra ownership began yesterday when I bought a new car - a 330ci Coupe (back to the old blue and white propeller!). Which means my car will be appearing in the For Sale section in the next 3 - 4 weeks. Its off to the garage to have a few tweaks and tucks as I want it to be pristine before it goes. Will miss the meets and the Dragonball runs - have made some good friends on here and hope I'll pop into the forum from time to time. No real reason for the change bar wanting a change - purely that! Love the car, love everything it does, love the looks and the noise but just want some time with something different. So, if anybody knows of anybody who wants a UK spec in Storm Blue in the very near future (and it'll be on at a reasonable price) then let me know. Ben-san
Sorry to see you go Ellis. You've put so much into that car and it's going just when it's perfect.

ellis
Sorry to see you go Ellis. You've put so much into that car and it's going just when it's perfect. Isn't it often the case!! You iron out every niggle, lavish thousands on a car, get it to exactly where you wanted it . . . then hanker after something else only for somebody else to benefit from your labour (and expense!). Still, I'm sure it will end up in a good home! Burna - I'll still be here! The forum is my homepage on all my browsers so I'll be here!! Rob Dublin
Pics of the new motor? You can always join us here: Supra BMW club... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/group.php?groupid=
ozz
Yeh, got pics? I've had several BMWs, and am toying with the idea of either a 330CI or an M3. I'm disappointed with the dash in them - looks like the e30 and e36 which was great back then, but would be tempted if I can get a good colour - what colour did you get? ozz
Verrrry nice! Very tempted, the dash is not as bad as I thought, still a bit basic but has the sat nav. What is the performance like and MPG?
ellis
Performance isn't tardy - tops out at 153 - expect around 25 - 30mpg. 231bhp (not a patch on the Supra but its different cars for different needs!) and around 221 lbs/ft torque. 0-62 in around 7 secs. Its a different beast altogther! Its fully loaded - leather, sat nav, telly, 6 disc changer, full memory leather seats, air con etc etc etc! 2004 on a 53 - 69K - good price!! ozz
That really is nice. I've got a 350z atm and I thinking of changing back to BMW as I just want a little more comfort and luxury. Thinking the 330 (remapped of course), the CI or the M3.
ellis
I toyed with the idea of an M3 and, with a few more pennies, could have gone for one but, to be honest, I just wanted something with lots of goodies, comfort and enough pace to have a bit of a play now and then. The M3, whilst a superb car, just means bigger bills all round at some point! Sh*t, I must be getting old!!! I had an E35 325i coupe before both of the Supras and there have been times of late when I really missed it - particularly when I looked at a few of the old pics of her (posted below alongside my old NA). http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/6716/bothad5.jpg http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/7259/car2vo1.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/9290/rear2ql8.jpg Edited August 20, 2008 by ellis (see edit history)
gordy07
The E35 325i looks minted and the 330 looks nice too,its just a totally different kind of car to the supra, but it sounds like you love your beemers too so why not. Enjoy it

Probably!!! Actually, probably not! High rate applies to cars registered after 2006 so avoiding the £400!! Edited August 21, 2008 by ellis Actually checked!!! ozz
That E36 looks mint. I've had a E30 316 (1.8NA), E30 325i Sport (project car, long gone) and a modded E36 325 coupe. Loved all of them. You've really got me thinking of a new car now!
ellis
You've really got me thinking of a new car now! Once the bug bites you're b&ggered! Get looking on autotrader and pistonheads and estimate a grand below all the prices they're asking! The E36 was mint! Loved that like I love the Supra - it was pampered. Started life as standard (sounds familiar) then it got AC Schnitzer suspension, full M3 bodykit and finally Hartge 18" rims (£2500 again!!!). Ending up selling it for £3250 3 years ago and it went off to Portsmouth/Southampton area! Miss it -it was beautiful! Used to eat coils and lambda sensors though!
