it's a little bit further, but if you'd like a venue that's a bit better than the carparks then just off the m4 at Swindon is a country park called lydiard. It has ample parking (some semi paved and lots of flat grass) and if I recall no speed bumps. It also has a visitors center that servers semi decent coffee, and is not too far from a few pubs.

Bracknell is a fecking shit hole, I work there, the point has loads of neds and car crime, I really recommend elsewhere.

Paul- no worries on the hijack- like I say it's the only hoooge car park I know of. Not sure about a country park at this time of year? Grass and big BHP RWD cars?!
I have no idea how busy it'll be on a Sunday which is why I'm gonna check it out this weekend (If I'm alive) if not theres always the mway services are suggested??

We should have no probs at all getting places on a sun so save a trip SG, but if people can suggest anywhere else at all, it'll be better than The Point!
(have you worked out yet how much I hate the place - well Bracknell in general really, used to live there for 2 years!) ;)
Last time I went to the cinema at the point there was nowhere to park, thats why I wanna check it out- BUT it was just before xmas and the premier of LOTR3 so a bit of a exception...
It's the only place with a huuuuuuuge car park that I know of.

As I said - lived there for 2 years - its a shit hole and the Point is notorious!! We'd have to stay with the cars then move on elsewhere!!! But also having lived there I've been down a fair few suns, we won't have a prob, theres always room down near Safeway if the worst comes to the worst!
It was even full down by safeway.... also I know it's free but only after a certain time.

I think all public car parks should be avoided unless the meet is out of hours or the "place" (eg supermarket) is closed.
Apart from that Im in !
Theres also a meet in Maidstone on the same day.

directions as follows, leave the M20 at J7 follow signs for maidstone ,200yards after leaving motorway you, will come up to another big roundabout, turn left then after 20 yards or so turn left "sign posted notcuts garden center" go up the slope, at the top on your right, there is the "Henrys Table Pub"
Big car park good food etc plus big big model shop in the garden center.

Well unfortunately you cant stop every man and his dog from showing up at a public venue!
That said I really can't see a problem with using a service stations car park especially in the coach/lorry section out of the way of everyone. We are a well behaved bunch that doesn't attract the unwanted attentions of the police, we wont be abandoning vehicles or trying to park up overnight. There won't be any huge cruise ships leaving town, or last minute sales to worry about!!!
Should we all get asked to move on there is then a choice of Winchester services (about 15-20 miles away) Basingstoke town, Winchester city with the bar end industrial estate just off junction 11, Rownhams services, the travelodge car park just off the M3-M27 interchange where a drink and meal can be had, or back to Southampton and west quay (the last one was a touch of a joke rofl). Basically though the crux of it is no matter how many people show at Fleet we have such a choice of options from there getting moved would almost be an advantage, rapid blatts down the M3 to any of the above venues would be a hoot. And when the other great unwashed jap motors get bored the hardcore supra element can have a drink at Soton travelodge or A nother public establishment.
Lets not have one minor venue upset cause problems it needn't and lets pick a car you came down with and follow that one home not the wrong one lol.

Right as I work in the area and drive this road every day I have had a look into it. Should Fleet be a problem there are several big public houses just off the next junction for hook. One of which hosts the DERBY BIKE nights which entails literally hundreds of bikers converging on the pub and ragging up and down the dual carriageway section along the single carriageway Odiham by-pass round the roundabout and back again. One of the roundabouts is encumbent with lights straight back onto dual carriageway so drags are assured and mucho fun usually ensues. This event happens on the first monday of every month so the venue can clearly cope with a lot of people. It is quite literally just off the motorway and onto a very fast section of road. There are two or three more pubs within 5 miles that serve excellent food (yes I have eaten in them all) and even a very uppercrust restaurant (with a lake - a guy borrowed a new audi tt left the handbrake off so you can imagine the comedy photo lol).
I still reserve the right that if there is a large cruise liner on aforementioned lake not to be held responsible for traffic situations!!!

Mark- yeah southbound.

Personally I'd go Either A34 or M40-A404 to the M4, then along to Junc 10, then on the A329 towards Bracknell, which turns into the A322 towards Bagshot/Guildford and this takes you down to the M3 @ junc 3, then just hop on there to fleet!
From Oxford, I'd personally save the pissing around, and M40->M25->M3
That said, the M40-M4 roadworks chaos may be something to avoid..
*edit* In fact, maybe A34->M4 or something would be more sensible. Or how about ignoring me. I haven't got a bloody clue, and it shows.
Either way, from Aylesbury that's the way I'm going (except mine will more likely be A41->M25->M3 unless I need petrol from the shell in Thame, by the M40).
I'm still an unsure for this meet.. I'm driving to Maidstone to see Matt H on Saturday, then driving to this meet on Sunday.. at least it'll give me a chance to appreciate all my new stereo bits I guess :) Fuel bill this weekend will kill me.

A34-M4 roundabout has roadworks as well and that can slow you up a bit. I would be tempted to go the M40-M25-M3 way.
M25 - M3 junction has lots of roadworks, feckin gei 40mph speed limit, and even geier variable speed limit with cameras (I was there last night when I missed the turnoff:banghead: )
A34 all the way for me:)

What as far as Winchester??? NOOOOO!! Its thirty minutes from Winchester to Fleet. Off the A34 at the M4 then off the M4 at Reading Junction 11, down the A33 towards Basingstoke. Where the dual carriageway runs out take the first left at the first roundabout and head for Hook, the next rounabout you go right at (the other turn off is for some park thing), then straight over the next roundabout. Follow that road to Hook, be carefull on that road cos there are two 90 degree nasty bends on it near Hook. When at Hook you will see the signs for M3. You will have to go past the services and come back down from the next junction but then again anyone coming from the south will have to do that anyway.
Hope that is some use to you Tlicense. I use that way to get to Brize Norton from Odiham on a regular basis so I know its a good route. The roadworks at A34-M4 roundabout on a Sunday shouldn't hit you that badly 15-20 minutes max.
