Supra Road Tax

Been pondering this for a short time so thought i'd bring it up;

My tax for the supra for a year was £185. But i thought it had gone up to £200 and something. Not complaining mind but thought we had a increase in road tax this year that took it over the £200 mark?

What has everyone else paid if you taxed your car in the last month or so?

just renewed mine on the 325 and it was £101 for 6 months. as the supra falls under the 01 reg it is in the same bracket. some polices change in 2009 and some again 2010.

just had the same on me skyline - apprently it goes by your emmissions - as most of the imports havent got full data, the DVLA have the cars reg as 0kg emmissions meaning you fall into the bottom bracket - TOUCH!

Road tax is becoming such a joke, that I know a chap who's thinking about flogging his Focus St170 to buy a Celica ST205 GT4 just because of it!

wow! that is big money!! Is that in Northern Island or southern? Just wondering whether you mean £1300 or 1300 euros.. still pricey either way mind

they really get screwed on tax down south, but fuels a lot cheaper, also i think their mot is every two years??

As previously stated, I believe it is due to it being a pre March 2001 reg.

I did laugh when mine was cheaper than my mates 1.8 Audi A4 !

That's the UKs sorted.

Problem is confusion over the imports and mainly after a particular year of actual import.

Im in southern ireland and i only taxed mine for 3 months and it was 347 euros

think it comes in at 1196 euros for a full year

What would happen if i chucked a newer engine in my pre 2001 car or an older engine in my post 2001 car ?

Would take the micky wouldent it, if i could put a high emmision engine from an post 2001 car into an older car and still get cheap tax and vica versa.

Well considering you get taxed on emissions based upon whether your car is this or that reg i'd presume that if done properly and declared to the DVLA you would get taxed upon the emissions of that engine and the year it belongs too.....

The gov't and dvla have not got a clue and this whole emission crap is just a joke.

If u had a pre 01 m5 then u pay £185 but if u have one after that date u pay around £440!

Both cars have the same engine/emissions and are actually the SAME car but with different number plates.

The Gov't are lost cases and need some direction making these dumb rules.

Well so am i for nowon my gtr but how long before they bring out another bullshite tax for older cars?
