LIKWIDART Posted August 10, 2008 Share Posted August 10, 2008 My rads just blown on my 1994 Twin Turbo Supra, split at the top. Does anyone know if I should fit an original Toyota radiator or is there a better alternative replacement? - any suggestions appreciated. Regards - Rob - Likwidart. Chris Wilson Posted August 10, 2008 Share Posted August 10, 2008 I have new stock TT rads in stock. Were you using a chromed radiator top pipe? These are known to put excessive loadings into the rad with the consequences you have found. the stock rad has a VERY efficient and modern core, the aluminium aftermarket ones are rarely any better. LIKWIDART Posted August 10, 2008 Author Share Posted August 10, 2008 Hi Chris. I don't have a chromed top pipe but have the original rubber. The car started ticking over at 500rpm rather than 800, and the a split occured at the top of the rad just below and to the side of the rad cap. What am I looking at for a new rad from you Chris.
