Main Radiator Blown

I have new stock TT rads in stock. Were you using a chromed radiator top pipe? These are known to put excessive loadings into the rad with the consequences you have found. the stock rad has a VERY efficient and modern core, the aluminium aftermarket ones are rarely any better. Unless you have a specific need for an alloy rad I'd stay stock.

Hi Chris.

I don't have a chromed top pipe but have the original rubber. The car started ticking over at 500rpm rather than 800, and the a split occured at the top of the rad just below and to the side of the rad cap. What am I looking at for a new rad from you Chris. Can't move the car until a new one's fitted.

Regards - Rob - Likwidart.
