JNk10
I have a 1995 so i need a cat. (its an NA). WOuld mot be ok with 1 cat and removing the second cat ? I mean, how would they know ? I may just go the whole hog and remove them both and find a friendly mot man. Anyone know the best cheapest place for decat pipes for na's ? couv3z
i only had the 1st cat in and it walked the mot, i had a custom pipe made, but there are plenty of traders here that sell them
Dazzi
I had my 1st decat when it was MOT time and was told it would pass easy if it was double decatted its that clean, but you have to remember every engine is different - some cleaner some not Edit: Hollowed out my 1st decat and got my 2nd decat from 2fast2cool on ebay
JNk10
Can i ask, did it free up any power with just one cat removed ?
Dazzi
It got a lot louder but didn't notice much at all. The dyno should prove what shes pushing next month.

Dazzi
I have a dyno next month too, was debating doing decat before then RR after to post up results on here and my site, to show the difference. 2 cats, 1 cat and no cats. Im quite interested to see what its like. Surely it cant get any louder haha Mine is pretty quiet on idle because I have an exhaust that uses a stock TT silencer box to quieten things down. On WOT the sound is awesome, just need some tunnels now. I had mine dyno'd in Feb and can't wait to see what difference there is too even if it is 5hp. Dazzi
What catback have you got? I had the Nur Spec R which was measured at 97db on idle... yea thats how silly the damn thing was without the baffle in. If noise = HP I think I would have reached 1000hp easily
JNk10
Apexi N1, that scrapes the ground haha. The noise is awsome but silent on idle.
Nic
Can i ask, did it free up any power with just one cat removed ? A tubular manifold will help with response and power, these replace the standard cast manifolds and first cat. http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8473/p1030161sa4.jpg http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/1831/p1030162uk1.jpg http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/7632/dsc00305dl3.jpg http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/1491/dsc00313hh4.jpg http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3957/dsc00312gm4.jpg http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1738/dsc00307xs0.jpg
