dont do it

theres nothing wrong with silver when its done properly

silver with a nice fresh coat of clear, flat n polished right will transform your car

just my opinion tho

Appreciate your comments but silver is just sooo boring n dull now imho and as the respray is costing me just the materials, the worst that can happen is just buying some more paint and cahnging it again :p

My Mondeo is Ford Pather black. It's acutally a pearl though mate, not metallic.

The painwork looks very nice when highly polished, but a little bit of dust and the car just looks grey. There are nicer colours out there :)

Edit - there's a fantastic graphite colour I love, it's either a Lambo or Aston one. Someone here recently sprayed their supra this colour...

Yes, its actually a metallic the panther black ( i work for Ford ;)) and its very very nice imho..just wanted to know the alternatives

I also like the lambo colour your talking about, Lamborghini Grigio Avlon which is very nice. How much would that paint be? would it be any more expensive than normal paint?

Well thats news to me! It says Pather black pearl on the dealer book, but you will know better than those lot :D As mentioned, it does look very nice when it's polished up.

Yep, thats the lambo colour I meant, it suits the supra lines so well. It's not too disimilar to the Gunmetal supra colour, but a bit darker and has a more shine to it. If I were repainting it'd be top of the list. All I could find on the net was it was a $3900 option on the Lambo when buying new :D

:D any idea of the price of the paint? is it a sepcialist paint or can it be mixed so to speak by a decent automotive paint supplier?

Honda do some nice 'pearl' blacks - Nighthawk Black has green flecks in it, Pirates Black has purple flecks in it, and Granada Black has gold flecks in it. They are subtle from a distance, but show up in the sunlight.

Alternatively you could always have your sprayer put some pearl in the lacquer when you have your car sprayed if you are after something different? That is what I went for when I had a respray. Looks blinding in the sun, only downside is that is looks 'dusty' when not in the sun due to the flakes
