View Full Version : Can I justify another Zeus racer? Or 1.5 litre, 430 BHP sounds fun

I am almost embarrassed to admit I am contemplating a third Zeus race car, this one being fitted with a unique 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, twin cam all alloy turbo engine giving 430 engine dyno proven BHP.
Power to weight is dramatic, and those that have driven it are supposedly impressed.
The current owners got so incensed by the problems with the original RST-V8 (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=57&t=160108)engine that they decided to build their own unit, from casting blocks to machining cranks and rods and having unique pistons made. The only proprietary part is really the Hayabusa head, albeit with bespoke cams and valves. I have a dyno video of this somewhere, but I think my wife's destroyed it in the hope I may go chasing women or something, anything rather than another race car... ;)
im confused what am i suppoused to be looking for in the link

yup, link not quite right :(
Order a box of choccies or flowers to go with it...
Give the missus the pressie, and face the usual questions of 'What have you done'.. and when you haven't done anything and she feels bad for having a go, THEN order the car :) (Works for me :))

That's the engine they gave up on. I was considering one myself, glad I couldn't afford it at the time!

sounds daft but where do you race them? Also why 3? Why not sell 1 and make the wife happy? Even with the best will in the world you can't drive 3 at the same time.
I think you need something different this time Chris, with a V8 rather than a screaming 4 cylinder. :D
Zytek perhaps? ;)
Or how about 2JZ power :)

Got one with Toyota power, and I like lightweight engines and race cars, so a straight six is definitely out, sorry :)
Here's a question. How often do you get to drive the ones you've got? :p

Statistically a large percentage more in the last month than in the last 8 months, but not as much as I intend to in the coming 12 months. Probably. Last time out was last week.

We have had a few power failures due to the storm, so the connection has dropped, you'll just have to be patient, I know you can't wait ;)

Parents have been without power in Newport too. We've been fine here and the generator hasn't kicked it at work....yet. :D Good storm though.

The directory was corrupted, have re loaded it now. Just to prove it's not a static exhibit in the truck :)

Jeez, we had some rain last night, looks like more to come from the sky overhead. How much a week is the villa? :)

I've only got one week left start of September. Had some bookings! :D
No rain, but you've only got this (http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/07/28/europe/EU-Greece-Fires.php) and this (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/world/article.html?in_article_id=219696&in_page_id=64&in_a_source=) to worry about there.
