Dnk
is powder coating ok? would it be ok with the heat? I'd have thought so but im not sure what temp external engine parts get too under the bonnet so we'll do a test on my car with our laser heat gun. Its a lot less hassel than polished parts and quite a range of colours too We did this to see what it would look like, this was done very quickly as a trial the other day, just shotblasted and then powder coated silver. Tricky-Ricky
You can use 2k paint on all the engine parts excepting the exhaust of coarse, i have sprayed several bike and car engines with it.
Dnk
Took some temperature readings this morning after approx a 20 minute drive to B'ham. Cam Covers -------- 85 degrees C Water Pipes -------- 80 degrees C Intake Manifold ----- 65 degrees C Turbo Pipes -------- 75 degrees C Powder coat is heated to 200 degrees C to bake it onto whatever your coating so wouldnt think it would be a problem. I'll do some parts on my car in the future but dont want it off the rd now seeing as its sunny
