Car power has seemed to go up a lot from the turn of the century even in your average 4 door saloons. Diesels too now are pretty quick. It still crept away. Nice car to get beaten by though. Also, on the way home from the Nurburgring, I had some real bother pulling away from a Mercedes ML. Tom Posted July 18, 2008 Share Posted July 18, 2008 I got wasted by a vw polo against my stock TT6 a few years back, it was months later when I picked up a friends VW tuning mag that I saw it was one of their feature cars of the year, turned out to have a 1.8 turbo lump pushing over 300bhp! the guy had 4 people in his car too and the braking was immense! But I did have a head to head with an M6 down the M62. I came second, by some considerable margin.
