Par for the course with TDI i'm afraid... They do charge extortionate labour as well.

Crazy price but not a surprise at TDI
I live about 10 mins walk from them and they have a great build quality and would be a fantastic tuner to have on your doorstep, I have used them in the past but the price just puts me off every time,a real shame
Has this club ever had them as a sponsor or held any club discount with them in the past ??

I think the technical guys they have are awesome but the owner takes the p!$$ with his prices. Great lads in the workshop, spent many hours chatting to them as I used to work around the corner. Not sure about the club affiliation but I know they do stuff with other supra clubs as I was there oneday when a whole load of supras turned up for a dyno day.
Is it really that much given the rarity of these? I should know seeing as I've been extensively looking for another one ever since my fiasco sourcing a Getrag box.
All the breakers yards seem to be aware of the rarity of these boxes, the cheapest I was quoted by any of them was £2200 on an exchange basis too!! Then you have new ones from Whifbits for £2700 or new from Toyota for £5000.
You have full manual conversions that sell for what, around £2200 or so from Jezz , Keron and others on here. With all that in mind then what is a reasonable price for these as that doesn't seem OTT to me in this current market?
Yes they have sold for £700 or so in the past and I'd happily pay that for a complete one, but in reality if you had one for sale what would you be putting it up for?

they used to have a presence a few years ago but there was a falling out and they left

It is expensive considering you don't know the history of it, and it's not rebuilt. You could end up with a box you need to overhaul, plus you need all the other goodies. I'd give him no more than £500 for it.
The ones that come from Jezz or Keron or any of the breakers out there aren't rebuilt either though are they and you're not going to know the history of those either are you?

You have a good point, but they came out of cars that were working up until the accident.
This one has most likely been lying in the back of a workshop for a few months probably without any oil in it... Anyhow, not really in the mood to argue with you about it mate, I just feel that it's a bit expensive.
Oh no worries, I'm not arguing with you, I'm just interested to see why people think that this is a 'riddiculous price' when it seems to me to be par for the course around here at the moment for these. If you can get hold of a working one that is :D

It seems expensive when you consider there are Supras for £3k and less now. OK not manual but still.
