View Full Version : iPhone 2 Firmware out hacked on mac and now for Windows too

Don't try it on your hacked iPhone yet, but if you're legit go try out the software (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=115024)! :D
(You'll have to put your iPhone into recovery mode and update it with iTunes 7.7 the usual way)

Keep an eye out on this blog (http://blog.iphone-dev.org/) tomorrow for the latest Pwnage 1.2 tool for your JailBroken 2.0 firmware.

There's also a MobileMe update to OS-X which replaces all the old .mac references through out the OS, but the service isn't running yet. :(

They've released the binary on the Apple site early for some reason. It's an official link.

PwnageTool 2 is out so you can now Jailbreak, unlock and install v2.0 firmware on the iPhone 1. It doesn't currently support unlocking of the 3G.

Mac only I'm afraid at the moment. No doubt a Windows version will surface in a month or so.

I just hope they get Installer 2 working quickly and the popular free apps recompiled. There's a few I'm going to miss...but then I have gained lots of shiny official new ones.

took my wife 5-6 hours to upload new version. Tip - don't disconnect part way in even if it seems like nothing is happening! (my fault!)

Have used the window one and I have to say that 2 runs soooo slow on my iphone.

Think I'll go back to 1.4, the loss of performance and the apps just doesn't make it worthwhile IMO.

PS, Exchange works a treat.

I noticed that the new installer is slow to scroll through, but nothing else is slow for me.

I never used a lot of the apps, the exchange bit is what I have been waiting for... :)

I take back my previous comment, I had updated using a work around as the windows update wasn't available yet.

Just updated using the new winpwn and working SOooooo much better :)

Cool! Must admit that Cydia is bit on the slow side, but everything else seems good.
