Supradan Posted July 2, 2008 Share Posted July 2, 2008 You need L.E.E.A certs (Lifting equipment engineers asc). There are 6 cta courses with a yearly exam took me 6 years to qualify. If i wish to drive a mobile cranes i need to get my lgv -c license! mmm i was under the impression they were different courses for different cranes, i have 6 cranes at work now 3 crawlers a lorry mount, a 200ton mobile and a 500ton mobile and i am buggered if i would let a driver swap cranes:D which course and how long does it take as a lot of sites will not employ crane drivers without a minimum 2 years crane experience Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

pa06has Posted July 3, 2008 Author Share Posted July 3, 2008 gaz1 - im doing a course run by bobby beveridge (in sheffield) in his course do you all the tests; saddler, jib and luffer cranes! his course is a 10 day intensive course! fargo - you need a man and also a crane to bring each section up whilst the man bolts it all together!
