My lil vw polo runaround (1.4 8v) appears to be running rich BUT it doesn't actualy seem like it is, its ideling fine, no leaks, plugs are clean but yet the fuel guage is telling me different... now the only things left I can think of is A, MAP is dodgy, B The sender unit is dodgy or C the lambda sensor is faulty....
Any thoughts???

doesnt a faulty lambda cause a car to run rich? i would suspect that first.

Well yeah that's what I thought but usualy there is other signs to tell if its running rich like the engine choking itself or fouled plugs but its all in check
Quite baffled

Didn't they have adjustable airflow sensors, usually a tiny little adjuster screw... Will see if I can get a pic from a mate's golf 8v.

I thought air flow was measured using the manifold absoloute pressure method?
But if you can get a pick that would be great help :)
