The battery on the Pug is a goner. Halfords want £90-100 and even the likes of performancebatteries.co.uk and carbatteryshop.co.uk want £60 upwards.

Any other recommendations?

Allparts are a 'down south' company.

Any local motor factors or does it have to be online?

Diesels often need big powerful (expensive) batteries to start them.

I have a large diesel battery you can have, off a Focus. Little used.

Only problem is getting it to you!

Ha ha it'd cost an arm and a leg to post a battery. I'm just going to bite the bullet and get one online and hope it solves the problem.

Don't they have to post them if you buy online??? LOL

Every pound counts these days, Ric. Why do you think I'm driving around in a sodding Peugeot 306 diesel? For the crack?

Wow, you get *that* free with a 306??? Must be the customer base they're targetting :D :p

The only crack that my car has is the one at the top of the drivers door that lets the rain in. Despite my initial praise this has to be THE worst car that I have ever owned.

You'd be horrified at how much halfrauds are making on car batteries. Mate of mine has a halfrauds trade card. Just this week he bought a calcium battery £89.99 list price for £47.50. The mark up on bulbs is even worse.
