SteveR Posted June 24, 2008 Share Posted June 24, 2008 Just out of curiousity, before I stick a quieter one on it and get the watsegate plumbled through it so I'm inside the 'Ring/track day noise limits. Results... STATIC (1m @ 45degrees): - idle: 84dB - 5,000 rpm: 95dB Drive-by (20m @ 90 degrees): - WOT (wastegate open): 97dB!!! Instant reading, average over a second and peak; held by a friend at a measured 1m and a guessed 45degrees. All the numbers match up when the revs are held for a few seconds. Are you measuring at 50cm as that's the distance bignum says UK tracks use? The reading would be significantly higher at half the distance.
