Scott Posted June 23, 2008 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Best off to route out the crack using a dremmel or something like that, fixing a metal plate underneath the spoiler to cover where the crack is, fill it in with fibreglass then finish it with high build body filler (usually blue). Guest CoolsBlue Posted June 24, 2008 Share Posted June 24, 2008 easy peasy, take a grinder, go at the cracks in the paint/gel coat of bumper, grind it all away, get fibreglass onto the grinded area, let it dry, use a jitterbug sander iirc (block one used with compressors, sand it nice and level, then use filler to smooth it out, sounds easy but will take some time and be messy...and by the way if it was crushed, ur bumper would have half of it gone, more like a little bump:)dont worry, it could of been worse. turbonut Posted June 24, 2008 Share Posted June 24, 2008 ouch!! Hope your intercooler piping is ok. Its not actually taken a chunk out, at least. Guess it depends if you can be bothered to do all the work yourself, or start again with a new front bumper. You could always adjust the ride height? You need to take it really steady. Another thing I learnt after having a Veilside (now gone as it was a PINTA for grounding) is to take the speed bump at an angle - if your on a housing estate with no traffic behind Hope you get it sorted anyway Lindax Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jim_1979 Posted June 24, 2008 Share Posted June 24, 2008 That's nothing mate!! I've spun out in a mr2 before, slammed into a high kerb and into a hedge. The whole bottom middle section of the bumper was destroyed!! I got it repaired though! I've also hit a rabbit before at 90mph which totally took out my bomex bumper on the mr2 also. I have a surfing mate for turns out to be pretty good at fixing surf boards so he is going to give me a bit of guidance.
