I just got my AA renewal through the door and just browsing through what im covered for and it works out im not covered at all because my car is over 10 years old.

Which companies have your backs?

im annoyed as ive been witht the AA for 6 years and its cheaper for me to leave and join back up than it is to renew for the year

I'm with Britannia Rescue, discounted through the CSMA.

Deluxe and Personal Cover - which means Europe and any car I'm in.

The only time I've had to call them out (not in the Sup) they turned up within a half hour with a low loader.

With RAC, however no choice in the matter as it is on my Fiance's father details as he is disabled and has priority response, even though with that they still took over 3 hours to arrive on last call out.

Heard a lot of people talk about Green Flag being good, father used to use them before going on Mobility and he never had an issue.

I thought with the AA, the member has the cover, does'nt matter what car, if your a passenger etc.

I am sure there will be some clause, as do you not have to register the main car with them?

Club Toyota refused to cover me, although they use RAC as it was Jap (as Michael said). I'd had 7 years of toyota ownership with cover from themselves previously

Still, had a deal with RAC. However, after 12 months without calling them out they increased my cover from £78 to £120!!

Sky, who I'm insured with, do breakdown cover. Cost me about £47 through EuropAssist. Had to use them a couple of times (turned out to be a dodgy battery) and they have low loaders and specialise in Jap cars :) Maybe you can join independently if your not with sky?

Nope, RAC is the person, not the car

Be careful with that one, there are a range of options available, as with the AA, that mean you can end up with the car or the person being covered.

Club Toyota with the RAC tie you in to the car for example.
