Professor Kenny
Started the car this morning, to hear a very strange clanking noise from the aerial. Had a bit of a play with it and now I've got a pylon on the back of my car that won't retract. Going to go and get in the boot in a minute and get it to drop back down (hopefully). I hardly ever listen to the radio so another time soon I'm going to get the HU out and connect the rear window element. Having said that, I've just had a thought: do all of them have that connector, or just the UK spec ones?
jamesmark
While you have your arial out, why not post in wanted section and see if anyone has a stubby one from the group buy a while back that they may not have fitted.
Professor Kenny
James tbh I'm not keen on the look of the stubbies, i think they look a little odd beside the spoiler. I've disconnected the motor now and got the aerial down, so I'll sort out the rear screen element connection and then when I can afford it I'll get the original aerial filled and resprayed. JustGav
Before you dismantle the boot.. flick the head unit on for a mo, then turn it off... this should cause the motor to retract the aerial, and then give a gentle push on the top and you can at least put it away. EDIT : Nuts, too late..sorry
