yáll know the routine.. Chiswick High Rd at 06:30, then off to the westend possibly stop somewhere for a quick drink or a bite to eat as usual parking permitting but i always find somink ..

Few races of course on the way to Earls Court .. with Nut heardz like Ash n´greensupe.. whom squeezed through 3 cars ocuupying the only 3 lanes available :eek:

I, and most everybody else I've seen except for Green Supra have the BT Freeway radios, 2 pack for 60-quid (inc charger + 2 rechargable battery packs) from Argos. They work perfectly well so long as everybody calms down and stops shouting into them :D

We got a little split on the Amsterdam run using these as their range is only about 2 miles, but it was the one and only time (and simply because the 3 at the back couldn't keep up with the 3 at the front).

J.B. Tony is right, The B.T Freeways are good value and reasonably good for £59.00 from Argos...for that you get two, with rechargable batteries and Twin slot in Charging station.

If you want a really good quality one then I'd go for either a Motorola XTN446, Alinco DJ446 (which can be tweaked for longer range) or an Icom F22SR on the following site but they are all a tad over £100 squid....but shop around coz Nevada's prices are not that competative but their site will give an idea.....It must have Tone Codes known as CTCSS, if it hasn't got that it aint gonna work with the other radios..

TBH The Freeways are ideal, where as the more expensive ones are just built to be used on an everyday basis in Shoe Shops, bars etc. so therefore more robust, the circuitry is prob a bit better, but in reality you don't really benefit if you are just buying them for occasional domestic use, the cheaper Freeways are just as good IMO.

Problem is the spokes are so open you can see the pss poor state of my brakes, calipers and hubs...more work required to make them bling up a bit, but they do make the car stand out now..its no longer just a standard looking UK spec that I have to park at the back of the meets, I can come out of the closet.

Yup- top time, coolest part being the drink in the sports cafe, all parked up in a big line (11 supes??) with the bouncer looking after them for us- result!

Going to the place with the hubble bubble pipe was different, and when we got to the last place off the Brompton Rd after a scenic view of the West end ha!! the Firemen turning up made us girlies happy gleeful voices of hurry up yoiu'r going to miss them bought a smile to my old gnarled lips eh Rosie!!!! I liked the last place and a good deal of ribbing then ensued (sorry Doug!Lol) Got home in 40 mins from central London to Dorking and I did'nt even break the limit much( thought I had aplain clothescar behind me for part of the way) Top result lads and lassies. Thank you all for turning up .. y'all know that the westend cruise ain't just the average Jap car meet .. it goes further along the night.. in a Sexy style.

The management at the Mezzo bar in Soho are a little pissed off with me .. coz we never stopped to have a drink there everytime we cruise through the W.end .. well I told 'em that the next time we''l stop by n' say hello.

top night out, the radios worked well, except when all 5 cars with radios got to the front...every time I stopped to get to the back everybody stopped in behind me.
