Mariusz Posted June 18, 2008 Share Posted June 18, 2008 I have decided that i am finally going turbo. Unfortunately my budget will not stretch to a 6spd TT so i may single turbo my 5 spd n/a. I was wanting you guys with experience to share it with me. What turbo kits you fitted? Did you need to uprate clutch? What sort of prices did you all pay? Guigsy Posted June 18, 2008 Share Posted June 18, 2008 5 speed is apparently ok with a better clutch but a bit risky if your doing bpu. but peoples results seem to vary. From what ive seen some say the box will get mashed but iv never seen any posts on here regarding it. Others have been running the 5 speed on bpu power for a while. Singleling a NA will give a lot less power than singleling a TT. For example I believe NA-T route give you max 350hp. Single route on a TT can go from 450 to A LOT. miko_supra Posted June 19, 2008 Share Posted June 19, 2008 you can pick up 5 speed boxes for a couple of hundred quid so when it goes pop just buy a new one. Im running a TT through a 5 speed with no issues yet. A n/a-t will produce more torque than a n/a-tt, which is what will kill the box.
