View Full Version : Wanted 2 quiet performance exhausts please - Tanabe or similar
NB: Paul Wiffin is out of stock, for approx 2 weeks.
Bignum and I are both in need of a much quieter exhaust system fr our ~550bhp single turbo Supras. (Simon more urgently than me so he gets first dibbs.)
95dB(A) at 2/3rds of max rpm is the noise limit we need to meet (Nurburgring). Use of baffles clearly not ideal. Also an exhuast that doesn't drone at motorway speeds would be ideal.
Anyone got anything for sale, new or used?
What's a superdrager like on a single? I would have thought they would still be pretty quiet.
The Amuse Ti is quiet as hell off boost mate, that's what's on mine but they're about £1300 and probably take ages to get here :(

Fair enough mate. I took over a grands worth of precautions for this exact reason and came back with a bitter taste and a lighter wallet. Still, it's just a heads-up :) and you'll be able to use the car on most UK tracks as well so it's a good idea which ever way you look at it. I just wouldn't say it's the end of the world if you can't find one in time.
Si didn't do anything to draw atention to himself but still got noise-tested last year, and just passed. There's no way either of our cars would pass as they are now, so a test would mean a ban, in effect (until it's quietened down). If we could blend in with the crowd, it might be an option to risk it, but if we got turned away we'd be pretty obvious coming back later on/the next day. After the expense of going there & back, and B&B & food for the 5 nights trip - I just can't risk that, despite not wanting to fork out for anyuthing right now.
I nkow louder cars get on, but I plan on doing a fair few laps, so sooner or later I'd get tested, as the car stands. Let alone them spotting us when the wastegates open! :D
I don't like the exhaust that's on it anyway, it's badly fitted and too low; I'll flog that to offset some of the costs of a new Tenabe. :)
