Guigsy
Got my brake master cylinder stopper through last week so after fitting a few extra shiny things to the engine today i went to put this on. I did it before on my NA without 2 much trouble so just a few mins work i thaught. However my new car is a UK spec, and right where the stopper is supposed to sit i have some pump thingy and a few other brackets and cables and stuff. Im not sure what they are but they get in the way and i cant see how to move them! At the moment it looks like i wont be able to fit it. Any help would be nice. Edit. Heres what im talking about. The red is a bracket that as far as i can see is just holding a wire. but i cant get to remove it because of whatever the green thing is. http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/2407/imgp0568jh8.jpg http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/6091/imgp0569le6.jpg Edited June 14, 2008 by Guigsy (see edit history)

hadyn
Bumping this thread as Im just wondering if anyone has had any success in fitting a brake master cylinder stopper to a UK spec or car with cruise control?
ADL Mark
I had one fitted to my UK spec with no problems at all, was a Cusco copy. It's not on at the moment though.
michael
I have one in the garage, I went out to fit it, decided it wasn't worth the hassle and put it back on the shelf

hadyn
So what kind of bodging would you need to do to get it on around the cruise control solenoid?
Guigsy
i still havent fitted mine. I have it on the list for when it goes to the garrage
ADL Mark
I don't remember having to do any bodging to get mine to fit, but I'm not with the car at the moment so can't check.
hadyn
Just to confirm the Cusco brake master cylinder stopper will fit a j-spec TT with cruise control. Here it is fitted to mine:
Kev.O
Hadyn, I thought the ally washer was to be used if you never had the OEM mounts. The red part has a hole in it which the stud fits into. I could be wrong though.

I fitted the stud into the red thing's hole no probs
Kev.O
Hadyn, if you look at the picture below, I'd say the ally part (washer) is the one on the far RHS that goes under the strut nut:
Guigsy
part number 2 is the one im having problems fitting on my uk spec
hadyn
Kev - I see what you mean now mate - I used this pic as a reference point and presumed the washer was to go on the stud: http://www.envyperformance.com/images/new_stock/CuscoBMCSSupra.jpg Is my installation OK then? Kev.O
I'm no expert, but I'd say there's no need for the ally washer to be there. Not that it's doing much in your picture. I'd just unwind the stud and remove it
hadyn
What is that washer for then?? Im thinking its to get extra leverage to push the brace closer to the master cylinder??
