fuel pump problem in a facelift

hi
a friend tried to install an eu spec fuel pump in his facelift jspec.
the eu pump starts for 2 seconds then stops.

when he takes direct + and - from the batterie it works, when he puts back the jspec pump with the oem plugs it also works.

do we have to make some changes with the pump harness??
what is the problem??

Can you not just wire it so it's on a switched live feed?

IE, not use the original connector?

Not a great idea, as the pump will then continue to run when the engine isn't. Like when you're upside down in a ditch and it's pumping fuel out into your hot engine bay...

Ok... put a kill switch for it in the cabin. That way you can kill the pump off in the event of a crash? lol.

Seriously... I don't know, but it would keep it running and solve your problem.

the trick is to use a relay with the oem + wire as a switch for on and off :)
