I've just bought a modular Car Ramp system for the supe, as I cant get a jack under it - anywhere. So by placing/driving the front wheels on the first part it rasies the bumper enough to slot in the second part, and just repeat until I have enough clearence to either get underneath, of put a trolley jack under. Quite cool really.

I used to use a wide plank of wood which went the width of the car. It also doubled as a chock or whatever you call it for when I was jacking the rear up. My grey car isn't too low though so none of that is necessary any more.
