Picking up a car from bodyshop - what would you guys be looking at to see if its a good job?

Obviously I'd have a good nose round etc but anyone got any specifics to look out for?

Unless there is something really obvious you'll need a trained eye to inspect it. A body shop expert can spot things a normal person can't because they've got lasers instead of eyes. If you've paid good money to have it done they'll have done a good job I'm sure.

Only things i know to look out for are overspray, orange peel, ripples, check around the seals. Ensure this is done under a good light otherwise it will be easy to miss things. I'm sure one of the bodyshop experts will be along shortly to give you more help though.

Overspray on trim

Machine polishing burn marks in the paint

Orange peel

Uneven panel gaps, if applicable

Paint match to other panels.

Im sure you will be able to notice anything that doesn't look right. Take your time looking over it, don't feel pressured to accept it if you aren't happy. Take a drying towel with you if its raining

Along with everything mentioned, check around seals, door latches to see if they have removed or just masked up, if there are places that they HAD to mask check they did it right, bad masking is fairly obvious, if you paid good money then everything should have been removed, otherwise they have cut corners.
